For Andrews McMeel Universal (AMU) a media company facing major industry challenges, we developed a bold whimsical concept. Designed to stimulate synergy and inspire creativity, the contemporary light filled volume with its multi-story grand stair, expansive skylights and ground floor café – resonates with the energy of a company looking to the future while respecting it’s past. When AMU decided to move downtown, an unlikely space turned into their new home. The challenge to incorporate two adjacent but distinct architectural environments from an abandoned postmodern food court and a historic building into a state of the art workplace for more than 200 employees.
