St. Louis
IIDA’s St. Louis City Center provides the learning, networking, and professional tools essential for all types of industry members, from Interior Designers to Manufacturers Representatives to Interior Architects. While our City Center is more commercially focused, we host a wide variety of CEU’s and events that appeal to all facets of the industry, regularly partnering up with the local chapters of ASID, AIA, IFMA, ISP and USGBC to bring quality programs to you.
In 2010 IIDA St. Louis City Center offered its design community the very popular Color Forecast event. We explored and learned about the Lewis Rice Center, Paradowski and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. For those needing NCIDQ and AIA credits St. Louis brought to them several interesting classes. Neotini 2010 was at the Chase where over 70 vendors and over 350 people attended a fabulous showing of St. Louis finest vendors and products. Trivia Night was loaded with fun and trivia which offered fellowship to the entire community. IIDA was proud to sponsor and recognize the winners of the annual Boardwalk Design Competition at the Opening Reception, at Maryville University. As a City Center we strive to reach out to many various charities and offer our support when and where ever possible.
St. Louis has solid steering committees composed of 12 hard working individuals from various industry members and interior design students that volunteer their time and visions, striving to present valuable outreach programs that will help further develop the St. Louis City Center’s identity in the industry as well as the community. The outreach programs allow our local Campus Center to provide information and mentoring opportunities to local colleges and their students, foster fundraising and awareness of IIDA values and efforts throughout the community, and provide quality opportunities and events to the interior design community.
The local St. Louis City Center continues to grow strong with our members, committees, and sponsors. 2011 proves to be an exciting year with many more events planned. Our goal as a chapter is to listen to our community and bring them the tools they need to grow professionally and personally. We encourage you to join the local IIDA organization, and get involved. Together, we all can make a difference in our community, our careers and our lives. Joannie Millar, IIDA Assoc., LEED AP IIDA St. Louis City Center Director.
